  • What is speech and language therapy?

Speech and language therapy supports children (and adults) to communicate more effectively. This may include help with speech sounds, understanding language, using words and sentences, or using non-verbal strategies to connect. Therapy is tailored to each individual.

  • Do you visit us at home?

Yes we visit families in their homes, including both children and adults. Home visits allow us to see communication in a natural, familiar setting, which helps us tailor support more effectively. For adult clients who prefer a clinic setting, we also offer sessions in our clinic.

Please note: there is a £10 per hour clinic fee to cover room hire and facilities.

  • Do you work with nurseries or schools too?

Absolutely. With your permission, we liaise closely with nursery staff and schools to ensure joined-up support for your child.

  • How much do you charge?

Please get in touch for current pricing. Our fees reflect the quality, experience, and personalisation we offer in every session.

  • Do you write reports?

Yes, we offer report writing as an additional service. Reports and written summaries are charged at our standard hourly rate, as they require dedicated time outside of face-to-face appointments.

  • Will I get notes after the appointment?

No written notes are included in the session fee. However, you are very welcome to video record us as we share your personalised advice during the session. We will show you the strategies, and you'll have a go yourself during the session so you feel confident using them at home.

If you would prefer a written summary, we are happy to provide one at our usual hourly rate.

  • How long is the face-to-face appointment?

Each session lasts 45 minutes. During that time, we assess and engage with your child through play. If we stay longer, it's usually to answer parent questions or offer further guidance.

  • What happens next?

Therapy always depends on what works best for your child and family. Some families choose weekly therapy for 46 weeks, others check in once every few months. We're flexible but we do rely on you to let us know what you need.

Please make sure to read our Terms and Conditions, which explain that you are responsible for your treatment plan. This means you must contact us to keep in touch and arrange follow-up if needed.

  • Can I use private therapy alongside NHS support?

Yes, and its important to remember that the NHS should always be your first priority. Independent speech and language therapy can complement NHS input, but we usually take a back seat once you reach the top of the NHS waitlist and begin receiving their sessions. Once you've had your NHS quota or if your child is discharged, you're always welcome to call us and come back.

  • Are there any additional fees for travel?

Yes if a home visit requires travel of 30 minutes or more one way, we charge an additional fee to cover petrol and travel time. There is a 50p per mile standard fee for both ways. Both ways are charged, as this time counts as a clinical hour that could otherwise be used for therapy. Any journey that takes a minimum of 60 minutes round trip includes a travel fee of £35 on top of the per mile petrol fee.

  • How do I book an appointment?

Once you get in touch with us, we will send you our Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) document. You'll need to read it carefully, return a signed copy to us, and feel free to call anytime with questions before signing. After we receive your signed T&Cs, our secretary Joanne will contact you to schedule your appointment. Before your first session, whether at home or in our clinic you'll also need to complete and return a case history
    questionnaire.

  • Do you offer ongoing support between sessions?

Yes, once you've had an initial appointment and paid, you're invited to join our private WhatsApp group, which currently includes over 120 families (and growing!).

The group offers resources tailored to common communication needs, support from parents who've been on a variety of journeys with their child's speech, language, and interaction difficulties, and who are at different stages of their own path, and direct input and guidance from our therapy team.

  • Do you really just play?

Yes, and that's exactly the point. We bring engaging toys and follow your child's lead. It may not look like therapy, but the best, most effective therapy often happens in joyful play, when your child doesn't even realise they're working. Small changes, practiced regularly in short, playful moments, can have a big impact. Little and often is key especially when its fun.

"Anna is very thorough and connects very well with my child her upbeat attitude is perfect for interacting with ….(child's name)."
